Aria master plan and building design
Architect Nada Mousa created the architectural concept for the project, using buildings no taller than a ground floor plus six floors. This height gives the buildings a scale better suited to residential areas than high-rise towers, and allows the units to be arranged around the gardens and internal walkways.
The overall idea was inspired by the four elements of nature: earth, water, air and fire, and it shows in the layout of open spaces and the choice of colors and exterior materials. Inside the units, layouts vary with the size and floor; there are conventional apartments, units with gardens, penthouses with terraces and duplexes spread over two levels.
The project has set aside about 11% of its land for commercial and service activities. Separating this zone from the residential buildings helps keep visitor and delivery traffic relatively far from the quieter areas.
